JOHN RAINEY NEWS

John recently returned from Marrakech, Morocco, home of BLACK HAWK DOWN, GLADIATOR, KINGDOM OF HEAVEN, and stayed in the chateau where Q Tarentino wrote KILL BILL. John was there cowriting CARPIRATES with Fred Wyler, who was also assisting Ridley Scott in the South of Morocco as Sir Scott prepared for his next film, BODY OF LIES, with Russell Crowe and Leonardo DiCaprio.

While John was in Morocco, he sealed a deal with Miromar Entertainment to film his spec script, A STAR IS DEAD, a rom com about an over-the-hill country singer/songwriter whose career kicks in again when the world thinks he’s dead… now if he could only get back to civilization to cash in. John and Fred completed CARPIRATES, and now both scripts move into preproduction.

In December, John goes back to the South of France to continue work on the Orpheus Project with Alain Amouyal and Silcord Productions. It’s a multimedia project of operatic scope about Orpheus in the 21 st century and his quest for the Eternal Couple.

And John’s script-consulting business continues to grow by leaps and bounds. Fortunately, his associate Anna Maria, a published novelist, grows more and more adept at script analysis. John thinks her analysis skills begin to exceed his own. All in all, 2007 has been a banner year for John and Rainey Script Consulting.
